Evidence-based care for hair and skin, from home

Not every skin or hair concern requires an in-person appointment. Medische Huid & Haarpoli is being developed for people in the Netherlands who want focused medical advice about skin, scalp or hair without unnecessary steps or beauty-industry upselling.

You prepare the consultation with relevant information and clear photographs. A doctor reviews your question and discusses an appropriate plan. If online assessment is not sufficient, we will say so.

Medische Huid & Haarpoli is currently in development. Leave your email address and we will contact you when registration becomes available.

This is not yet a medical registration and does not create a doctor–patient relationship. Please do not submit medical information through the pre-launch form.

Skin and hair in one service

Skin, scalp and hair problems often overlap. The future clinic will cover topics including hair loss, androgenetic alopecia, scalp problems, acne, rosacea, pigmentation, retinoids and evidence-based skincare.

No ten-product routine if three products are enough

The skincare and haircare market is crowded with commercial claims. Our approach is medical: what is likely to be going on, what has reasonable evidence behind it and what can safely be left out?

Sometimes a simple routine is enough. Sometimes medication or laboratory testing is appropriate. Sometimes an in-person GP or dermatologist is the correct next step.

Online where appropriate, in-person where necessary

Good photographs and a focused history can answer many non-urgent questions. However, suspicious pigmented lesions, severe infections, rapidly changing lesions and possible scarring hair loss may need physical examination, dermoscopy or specialist assessment.

How it will work

  1. Digital preparation — upload photographs and relevant information.
  2. Medical review — the doctor reviews your case.
  3. Video consultation — discuss likely diagnosis, options and uncertainties.
  4. Personal plan — receive a practical plan and clear follow-up criteria.
