Digital care works best when the preparation is structured.
Before a consultation, you will receive instructions for useful photographs, relevant products or medicines, duration and progression of the problem and previous treatment.
During the consultation, the doctor explains the most likely possibilities, remaining uncertainty and the logical next step.
That may include self-care, a simplified routine, medication, laboratory testing, photo follow-up or advice to see a GP or dermatologist in person.
A video consultation cannot replace dermoscopy, biopsy or physical examination. When those are needed, recommending in-person care is the correct outcome.
